Last summer, there was discontent  in the college football landscape as a record number of teams were choosing to head to greener pastures.  The Big Ten added Nebraska, the Pac-10 added Utah and Colorado to get to the Pac-12, the Big East added TCU, the Mountain West added Boise State, and the list goes on.

Now, we are looking at the potential for round two to the madness of last summer as Texas A&M could be heading to the SEC.  In addition, rumors are circulating that Florida State could be headed there also.

Northwestern recently released their depth chart for the beginning of fall practice.  The offense returns a staggering 9 starters, and  the defense returns 7, therefore giving head coach Pat Fitzgerald a ton of returning talent to work with.

The two new starters on offense are sophomore WR Rashad Lawrence and senior guard Doug Bartels.  The offense was the strength of this Wildcat team last season, and it should be again this season.  I expect huge things to come this season for senior QB Dan Persa, who is returning from an injury that kept him out part of last season and all of spring practice.

The head coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Jim Tressel will serve a two game suspension and will have to pay $250,000 fine.  The Athletic Director for the Buckeyes Gene Smith said Tressel will remain their head football coach and will not be fired.
